Learning The Parable Of The Sower For Kids

This first Sunday school lesson of a series about the parable of the sower will help the children discover how truly wonderful the Word of God is, and how we must keep it close to our hearts with truth and understanding. Between Jesus teaching the parable and explaining it to the disciples Jesus tells them that the difference in people's response is not the result of their efforts or the brilliance of their ministry strategy or the skill of their oratory, but rather the sovereign grace of God.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

The seed in the thorns is like someone who hears the Word of God, but they are so worried about everything else going on in their life that the Word slowly gets forgotten and never has a chance to grow and help them become all that Jesus wants them to be.
In the parable the farmer sowed seeds and the seeds fell into four different kinds of soil. We must remove the rocks” and weeds” and till up the The Parable of the Sower soil of our hearts to soften them. During the time of Jesus' ministry , He often taught about the Kingdom of Heaven on earth through parables.

As he sowed, some seed fell by various places—the wayside, the rock, among the thorns, and on good ground. Children should use chopsticks to pass sunflower seeds from one pot to another. A parable is a symbolic story that teaches gospel truths by comparing them to earthly things.
It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”When he said this, he called out, Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” 9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He tells a story we call the parable of the sower. Well the seed is like the Word of God and the soil is a person's heart.

A parable is a special story that Jesus used to teach the people about God and his kingdom. But if we open our hearts to Jesus, trust in Him to care for us, and accept His word as truth, we will be able to grow like beautiful flowers and do many things for Jesus.
Then there were some seeds that fell in the good soil, and they grew strong and tall, and there was a lot of grain that came from them. If you don't ask, you will forget what you learned and it will be like the seeds that fell on the path that were eaten by the birds.
